We’re pleased to welcome Sunrooof as a participating brand at Design POV ’26.
Founded by Ishat Jain in 2019, Sunrooof is a wellness lighting system that transforms ceilings into a simulation of natural sky. The idea spent four years in research and development before the first prototype was unveiled at a design event in 2023, where it generated over 5,000 inquiries. That response confirmed the market demand and pushed the brand into full-scale production. By November 2023, Sunrooof had completed product development, set up a 70,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, and opened a 20,000 sq. ft. flagship showroom in Delhi.
The technology works by recreating the experience of natural sunlight indoors, including in spaces without windows or direct daylight access. Using advanced optics, intelligent design, and AI integration, the system adjusts colour and brightness to mirror the sky outside in real time. Beyond the visual output, the technology is designed to support circadian rhythms, with a direct effect on mood, focus, energy, and overall well-being. The brand currently holds one granted patent and has two more filed for the technology, with next-generation development underway, including vitamin D simulation.
Their product portfolio covers a range of ceiling formats: Classical, Modern, Louvered Window, French Window, Atrium, Fluted, and Arch Window, each customisable across residential, commercial, and hospitality applications.
The brand’s soft launch in March 2024 brought significant traction. Since then, Sunrooof has completed 500-plus installations across diverse project types within its first ten months. In India, the brand has expanded to six cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Mohali, Surat, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. Internationally, franchise inquiries have come in from 58 countries including the UK, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Mauritius, Dubai, and several African nations. A strategic partner in Dubai has also been secured to lead the brand’s entry into the GCC market.
Sunrooof is backed by MAGPPIE, a company with a 25-year legacy in premium design, which gives the brand a strong foundation in manufacturing and product development.
At Design POV ’26, Sunrooof brings a product category that sits outside conventional lighting and interior design, one that directly addresses how built environments affect the people living and working in them.
